Common Questions
Q: I have a bunch of clips I've already filmed. Can you turn them into a striking showreel?
A: Of course. The "Hands Free" package offers editing your pre-filmed clips. Just send over the digital files and we can discuss which clips to use!

Q: I'm performing in a show I'd like filmed. Can you film the show and edit it into a showreel?
A: Absolutely! Though pricing for filming would be a bit different and would depend on the length of the show, editing the showreel would just be an additional £80. Please see the "Production Videos" page for an idea of filming prices.

Q: Can you travel to the location of the show?
A: Travel is no problem. I'm based in Bognor Regis and can travel up to 30 miles at no extra charge. I charge 40p per additional mile (there and back).

Q: How long should a showreel be and how many clips should I have?
A: These days people have very short attention spans. Agents and employers may only look at the first 20 seconds of your showreel before they move onto the next, so it's important to grab their attention quickly. Even then, the shorter the showreel the better. I'd recommend 2 minutes at the most, with either four 30 second clips, or six 20 second clips.

Q: How does filming demos work?
A: A demo is a short monologue, song or dance with just yourself in a studio setup. For actors and singers, a small studio setup is provided with a black background, full lighting and sound equipment to ensure a professional standard. A dance would require a larger space such as a dance studio, which we can easily find together.

Q: I've decided to film my own clips so you can edit them. Any tips on how to film?
A: Filming your own clips is a great way to save money, though there are many mistakes people make. You can film on your phone as long as you're filming LANDSCAPE (not portrait), and we're able to see and hear you clearly. Preferably using a tripod. If your friend is filming you in a stage show, ask them to film as close to the stage as possible (not far away and zoomed in). Phones are good cameras, but they're not THAT good.

Q: When filming me in a show, can you focus on just me rather than other performers?
A: Yes - assuming we're filming for the sole purpose of your showreel. I can make sure the cameras are focused only on you. We can discuss specifics before the show.

Q: Do I get a say in how the showreel looks?
A: You certainly do - before editing begins we can talk about if there's a certain brand/image you'd like to show off. Then you have up to two video amendments (three drafts total) to ensure the showreel is the best it can possibly be.

Q: I'm an actor with no clips to show. Can you help me build a showreel from scratch?
A: I'd be delighted to. A good place to start would be to film 3 short scenes. I'd recommend a mix of both demo monologues and acting scenes. If you'd rather have me take full creative control, the "Acting Scene PLUS" package offers full overseeing of production so you only need to learn your lines and turn up on the day! (Make sure you do know your lines though - production has taken twice as long due to unprepared actors in personal experience!)
